SUSTech Seeks to Extend Education Cooperation with Cambodia

The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China has expressed interest in extending its education cooperation agreement with Cambodia and in developing a joint pre-departure training programme with Cambodian higher education institutions.

The proposal was made by Prof. Hong Wei, Director of SUSTech Global, during a meeting late last week in Phnom Penh with H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

Prof. Hong Wei expressed appreciation to the ministry for nominating outstanding Cambodian students to study at SUSTech and praised their academic excellence and active engagement in Khmer cultural exchange activities.

In response, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron thanked SUSTech for its continued interest in partnering with Cambodian institutions and highlighted the importance of strengthening academic collaboration. He also encouraged SUSTech to explore partnerships with leading public universities in Cambodia for joint training programmes and to consider offering additional scholarships to Cambodian students pursuing advanced studies in science and technology.
