Cambodian PM Congratulates Singapore Counterpart on Landslide Victory

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has extended his congratulations to Singaporean Prime Minister H.E. Lawrence Wong following the People’s Action Party’s (PAP) landslide victory in the recent general election.

The message was conveyed via a phone call and shared on Samdech Thipadei’s official social media accounts this afternoon.

“The increase in both parliamentary seats and popular votes for the PAP, the ruling party, clearly demonstrates the strong confidence of the Singaporean people in their Prime Minister,” he remarked.

Samdech Thipadei also recalled his official visit to Singapore in June 2024, shortly after H.E. Lawrence Wong assumed office. During the visit, the two leaders held extensive discussions aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between Cambodia and Singapore.

“This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two nations. I firmly believe that under the leadership of H.E. Prime Minister, we will continue to expand cooperation across all sectors for the mutual benefit of both our countries and peoples,” he said.

The Cambodian Premier expressed his hope to welcome Prime Minister Wong for an official visit to Cambodia in the near future.

The People’s Action Party, Singapore’s long-standing ruling party, secured a landslide victory in the May 3 general election, winning its 14th consecutive term with 87 out of 97 parliamentary seats.
