KOICA Showcases Water Sector Achievements at Cambodia-Korea Forum


The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea jointly hosted the Cambodia-Korea Water Industry Cooperation Forum in Phnom Penh on May 6.

The forum was presided over by H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia, and H.E. Wansup Kim, Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea. The event brought together representatives from government ministries, international organisations, and both public and private sectors.

Ms. Lee Sejin, Deputy Country Director of the KOICA Cambodia Office, also participated in the forum.

In her presentation, Ms. Lee highlighted KOICA’s cooperation in Cambodia’s water sector, outlining the agency’s strategic approach and major accomplishments. She noted that KOICA has implemented 19 projects and trained around 200 Cambodian government officials through its invitational training programme, with a total investment of approximately US$26.8 million.

KOICA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Cambodia in advancing sustainable water management and enhancing resilience to climate change.
