Since the onset of armed conflict on July 24, 2025, H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, has led a Royal Government group in Banteay Meanchey province, overseeing critical relief operations for civilians and military families displaced by the recent border dispute.
For the past week, Minister Dith Tina has been stationed in the province, working closely with provincial authorities and humanitarian teams to deliver essential food supplies and provide support to more than 7,000 families sheltered across all nine districts and cities. The Minister personally visited temporary shelters, offering encouragement and distributing aid to those affected.
Many of the displaced families fled conflict zones near the Tamone Thom and Ta Krabey temples in Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province, as well as other border areas in Banteay Meanchey. Safe zones in O’ Chrov, Svay Chek, Mongkol Borey districts, and Sisophorn city have become safe places for those seeking refuge.
During his visits, H.E. Dith Tina conveyed messages of solidarity from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia. He also supervised the distribution of food and emergency supplies donated by philanthropists to support both civilians and frontline forces.
In addition to coordinating humanitarian efforts, the Minister closely monitored the security situation in the border regions, conducting on-site inspections at the Poipet International Border Checkpoint.
The government task force, in partnership with local authorities, has provided food assistance to over 7,000 displaced families over the past week. Relief operations and support services will continue until it is safe for families to return home, ensuring sustained care for those impacted by the conflict.
