AmCham Cambodia Commits to Promoting Cambodia’s Tourism Potential

The American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) has committed to working with the Ministry of Tourism to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and attract more American visitors.

The commitment was made during a meeting between Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak and Mr. Casey Barnett, President of AmCham Cambodia, held late last week at the ministry’s office in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation in the tourism sector, along with suggestions and initiatives from AmCham members aimed at strengthening tourism development, the business environment, and investment opportunities.

H.E. Minister Huot Hak expressed appreciation for the chamber’s confidence in the Royal Government of Cambodia’s sound and wise leadership, as reflected in the continued investments of its members and the constructive initiatives raised by AmCham.

On the occasion, the Minister also briefed AmCham on immediate and medium-term measures being prepared by the Ministry of Tourism to address current challenges. He stressed that AmCham Cambodia is regarded as a valuable and indispensable partner in contributing to the growth of Cambodia’s tourism sector and in attracting greater investment.

Mr. Casey Barnett highlighted his personal experience of living and doing business in Cambodia for many years, noting that “Cambodia and the Cambodian people love and value peace, as expressed in the slogan ‘Thank Peace’ seen everywhere. Through peace, Cambodia has been able to develop in all sectors.”

He reaffirmed AmCham’s commitment to helping promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and investment opportunities to the American public and investors, encouraging them to visit and invest more in the Kingdom.
