Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mrs. TAKAICHI Sanae on her election as the first female Prime Minister of Japan.
“On behalf of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia, I have the great pleasure to extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on your historic election as the first female Prime Minister of Japan by the Japanese Diet on 21 October 2025,” he wrote in his message dated Oct. 22.
“I stand ready to work closely with Your Excellency to further strengthen the enduring partnership between our two countries, as we collectively advance our shared vision for peace, stability, and prosperity–both within our region and beyond,” the Cambodian Premier affirmed. “To this end, I look forward to the opportunity to meet with Your Excellency at the earliest convenience.”
Over the years, Cambodia and Japan have consistently maintained excellent relations, underpinned by frequent high-level exchanges and robust cooperation across a wide range of sectors, underlined Samdech Thipadei, recalling his meaningful and fruitful visit to Japan in May this year, during which both countries reaffirmed their strong commitment to further deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a new milestone in their bilateral relations reached in 2023.
