The Japan Heart Organication recently concluded a crucial mission providing free medical treatment to Cambodian children at Chey Chumneas Referral Hospital in Takhmao city, Kandal province, on Oct. 30 afternoon.
The humanitarian effort was a focal point of appreciation from local authorities. H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Kandal province, met with the medical team to personally convey his gratitude.
The Governor presented a bouquet of flowers, thanking Japan Heart not only for the immediate free treatment offered to children but also for their long-term commitment to the region, specifically the construction of the Japan Heart Children’s Medical Centre within the hospital compound.
The newly constructed facility, a significant addition to the hospital’s infrastructure, is a three-story Children’s Medical Centre. Key features of the centre include capacity: 200 beds and 100 rooms; surgical capability: four state-of-the-art operating theaters; scale: built on a 15,000-square-metre site.
The entire project was realised through the generous contributions of the people of Japan and local philanthropists, channeled through the Japan Heart Organisation, underscoring the strong bilateral support for pediatric healthcare in Cambodia.
