A high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation, led by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, attended the Plenary Session marking the 10th Anniversary of the Paris Agreement, held as part of the 8th Edition of the Paris Peace Forum in Paris, France.
The high-level session, distinguished speakers included H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and H.E. Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, along with world leaders and senior representatives from international organisations and governments to commemorate a decade of global climate action.
The session aimed to reinvigorate international cooperation on climate change under the theme “New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet.” It provided a platform to take stock of progress, align national climate strategies with global frameworks, and foster holistic approaches that integrate biodiversity conservation, clean energy development, and social well-being.
Reflecting to Cambodia’s strong commitment, it highlighted the country’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term vision for carbon neutrality by 2050. Cambodia’s NDC 3.0 sets a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 16 percent by 2035, or up to 55 percent with international support, while increasing renewable energy use to 70 percent by 2030.
This participation underscores Cambodia’s active role in global climate governance and its continued cooperation with the international community to build a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for all.
