The ASEAN Observers Team (AOT), coordinated by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence, conducted an inspection and verification of the ceasefire implementation at Checkpoint CH1 in Thmar Da commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province.
According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defence, the mission took place on the morning of Nov. 19 at around 11:08 a.m.
During the inspection, the press release stated, the team heard the sound of weapon explosions coming from the Thai side. For safety reasons, the AOT decided to suspend the verification mission in the area and withdraw.
