Samdech Maha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has rejected reports circulating on social media claiming that the Royal Government plans to reduce or merge ministries and state institutions.
Speaking during a ceremony to distribute land ownership certificates to residents of 17 villages in Ksach Kandal district, Kandal province, on Wednesday, the Premier reaffirmed that the Royal Government’s existing policy remains unchanged and that there are no plans to merge ministries or state institutions.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that the number of ministries and state institutions will not be reduced. Instead, the government will strengthen each institution, clearly define responsibilities, and promote cooperation among ministries and institutions to better serve the people.
He explained that some ministries and institutions may reduce the number of departments where certain units are unnecessary or have overlapping responsibilities, with the aim of streamlining structures and improving their effectiveness.
The Prime Minister also called on government officials to remain confident and not be concerned about the matter, stressing that the government’s policy has already been clearly established.
