King: Solidarity Palace Reflects Core Values of National Unity and Leadership

His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has said that the newly built Solidarity Palace of the Senate reflects the core values and leadership philosophy of Cambodian leaders, who recognise national unity and solidarity as strong pillars of the Kingdom’s long-term peace, stability and prosperity.

The King made the remarks while presiding over the official inauguration ceremony of the Solidarity Palace on Friday.

His Majesty said the building would serve not only as a symbol of national solidarity, but also contribute to enhancing Cambodia’s prestige on the international stage and adding to the architectural heritage of the Chamkar Mon State Palace.

“We can conclude that the Solidarity Palace will not only be a symbol of national solidarity, but this building will help enhance national prestige on the international stage, now and in the future, and help add beauty and diversity to the many historical buildings in the Chamkar Mon State Palace, which is a legacy of architecture and the most precious masterpiece of His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk ‘Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh’,” the monarch underlined.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King; Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, and his spouse; as well as senior leaders and foreign ambassadors accredited to Cambodia.

Initiated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, construction of the Solidarity Palace began with a groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 9, 2024. The four-story building was completed in 16 months and put into operation on Jan. 23, 2026.

The building measures 79 metres by 47 metres. Its ground floor houses a large library, staff room, bodyguard command room and server room.

The first floor features a large hall for official welcoming ceremonies, a banquet hall, press conference room, multi-purpose room and waiting room.

The second floor accommodates offices, a bilateral meeting room, reception hall, resting rooms and a Standing Committee meeting room, while the third floor contains additional offices, meeting rooms and reception rooms.
