Kuwait’s TGA Eyes Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy Investments in Cambodia

Tanmia Global Strategic Development Advisory (TGA), a Kuwaiti state-owned enterprise, is actively seeking investment and project development opportunities in Cambodia across oil and gas, renewable energy, and green technology sectors.

The investment scope was discussed during a meeting on Oct. 15 at the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Kuwait City between Cambodian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Chhay Makara and Najeeb Al-Menifi, Managing Director of TGA.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Menifi detailed TGA’s strategic focus on offshore and onshore oil and gas exploration, fuel storage, refining, solar power, energy storage systems (ESS), and green industrial tech—including solar components and advanced battery manufacturing.

The firm is also exploring prospects in logistics and cold-chain storage, as well as solar-powered water purification systems.

For his part, Ambassador H.E. Chhay Makara welcomed TGA’s initiative, emphasising that the proposed ventures closely align with Cambodia’s national development priorities. He underscored the Royal Government of Cambodia’s ongoing commitment to facilitating foreign direct investment that drives long-term, sustainable economic growth.

The Ambassador briefed the Kuwaiti delegation on Cambodia’s Law on Investment, highlighting priority investment sectors, streamlined administrative procedures, fiscal incentives, and strategic guarantees for international investors.

In response to an invitation from the Ambassador, Mr. Al-Menifi confirmed that a TGA delegation plans to visit Cambodia to assess on-the-ground opportunities and study investment procedures.

Ambassador H.E. Chhay Makara assured full diplomatic support from the embassy to facilitate direct engagements with relevant Royal Government of Cambodia’s ministries and agencies.
