Cambodia Reaffirms Support for UN Resident Coordinator System

Cambodia has reaffirmed its longstanding partnership with the United Nations (UN) and its commitment to peace and sustainable development.

The reaffirmation was made by H.E. Keo Chhea, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations, while addressing the Asia and Pacific session of the Annual Resident Coordinator Global Meeting in New York on Nov. 5.

In his remarks, Ambassador Keo highlighted the important role of the UN Country Team, under the leadership of the UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, in supporting the country’s national development priorities.

These priorities include graduation from the status of a least developed country (LDC), climate action and the implementation of projects aimed at promoting sustainable development.

He also called for continued investment in the UN Resident Coordinator system to ensure a more coherent, responsive and effective UN development system.
