Cambodia Bokator is set to perform at the 13th China Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival in Zhengzhou city, Henan province, People’s Republic of China this weekend.
Minister of Tourism H.E. Hout Hak this morning led a delegation consisting of Cambodian Bokator practitioners to the 13th China Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival and will address the opening ceremony of the event, according to a ministry’s press release.
During the festival, there will be a special show of joint performance of Cambodia Bokator and Shaolin Wushu Martial Arts.
The Ministry of Tourism considers this event as an opportunity to promote Cambodian Bokator and tourism, strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand cooperation with the Henan province, and promote the “Visit Siem Reap 2024” and “Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2024,” said the press release.
This event will be attended by ministry leaders, related institutions, tourism and cultural associations, private sector representatives, and approximately 1,200 martial artists, including Shaolin Wushu athletes, from China, regional countries, and around the world, it pointed out.
Besides the event, the source added, H.E. Huot Hak will hold meetings with Henan provincial leaders and potential Chinese tourism companies.
In April this year, the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the People’s Government of Henan Province and Siem Reap Provincial Administration hosted the “Cambodia-China Cultural Tourism Exhibition” along with “When Shaolin Meets Bokator at Angkor Event” at Bayon Temple.
