Cambodia, Laos Satisfied with Bilateral Relationship

Cambodia and Lao PDR are satisfied with their good relations and cooperation as comprehensive and long-standing partners.

The satisfaction was highlighted by Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and visiting H.E. Sinlavong Khoutphaitoun, President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee, during their courtesy meeting here at the Peace Palace this morning.

H.E. Sinlavong Khoutphaitoun congratulated Cambodia on her rapid development in all fields and was convinced that under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, a young, active and intellectual Prime Minister, Cambodia will see more growth.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the progress in the cooperation between the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland and the Lao Front for National Construction, which has contributed to the strengthening and expansion of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides also exchanged views on further fostering both neighbouring nations’ cooperation in key areas, including energy, trade, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, infrastructure connectivity aiming to boost their economic growth, as well as security and defence.

In the same morning, H.E. Sinlavong Khoutphaitoun also paid a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), during which the two sides praised the relationship between the two Fronts, which have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 2024-2028.

The MoU confirms the close solidarity and commitment to maintain the long-standing relations between Cambodia and Laos, which have been built for a long time and have become comprehensive strategic partnership.
