Cambodia has announced its commitment to host two major international media events in the coming years, solidifying its role in regional media.
Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra, speaking at the 17th Conference of ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Information (AMRI) in Brunei Darussalam, confirmed Cambodia’s readiness to host the 18th AMRI Meeting in Phnom Penh in 2027.
Prior to this, Cambodia will also welcome media professionals to the 20th Asia Media Summit (AMS) in Siem Reap in July 2025.
The announcement, made in the presence of ASEAN and ASEAN+3 (China, Japan, and South Korea) ministers and delegates, underscores Cambodia’s dedication to fostering stronger regional cooperation in the media sector.
H.E. Minister Neth Pheaktra reiterated Cambodia’s firm commitment to enhancing collaboration within the region. To highlight the nation’s preparedness, the Cambodian delegation presented two promotional videos.
The first showcased Phnom Penh’s dynamic development and its capacity to host the 2027 AMRI Meeting. The second video highlighted Siem Reap’s rich cultural heritage, emphasising its readiness for the 2025 Asia Media Summit and illustrating Cambodia’s blend of tradition and progress.
The announcements were met with enthusiasm from attending delegates, many of whom voiced strong support for Cambodia’s leadership in promoting regional media collaboration.
