RBC Meeting Yields Agreement on Regular Communication, Peaceful Resolution


The Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between the 4th Military Region of Cambodia and the 2nd Army Area of Thailand was convened today at 11:00 a.m. and concluded at 11:53 a.m. at Choam SaNgam International Border Checkpoint, Oddar Meanchey province.

The Cambodian delegation was led by H.E. Lt. Gen. Pov Heng, Commander of the 4th Military Region and Co-Chairman of the RBC Extraordinary Meeting, while the Thai side was led by H.E. Lt. Gen. Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area and Co-Chairman of the RBC Extraordinary Meeting.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, during this Extraordinary Meeting, both sides agreed to maintain regular communication between all military regions, army areas and units along the Cambodia-Thailand border and strive to resolve all issues peacefully and avoid clashes.

Both sides also emphasised the importance of further strengthening relations at all levels in order to build trust and promote good neighbourliness. They further underscored the positive momentum and progress achieved through these engagements in advancing cooperation across all sectors, with the shared aim of returning to normalcy.
