Cambodia is advancing its legal reform agenda to further strengthen accountability and support national development.
H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and First Vice-Chair of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), chaired a high-level meeting to review progress in legal research on Cambodia’s legal system.
The meeting was convened as part of preparations for an upcoming national workshop to be presided over by H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, and Chair of the LRC.
The discussion mainly focused on research methodologies designed to align with international norms and standards to ensure that all members, researchers, legal experts, and LRC officials are fully prepared to contribute effectively to Cambodia’s ambitious legal reform agenda.
This step is considered vital in reinforcing transparency, accountability, and modernisation of the country’s legal framework.
The meeting underscored the Royal Government’s determination to build a legal system that supports sustainable development while harmonising with international legal principles.
