Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha, Minister of the National Defence, is among the 1,800 delegates from 100 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and ASEAN to attend the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, being held in Beijing from Sept. 17-19.
The forum, themed “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development.” was officially opened this morning at the Beijing International Convention Centre.
On the occasion, Secretary-General of ASEAN H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn delivered his remarks on the topic of “Building a Just and Equitable Global Security Governance System.” He emphasised the ASEAN’s support for a global security governance system that is based on a culture of dialogue and cooperation, open and inclusive engagement, and respect for international law.
As the host, Chinese Defence Minister H.E. Gen. Dong Jun pledged greater efforts to safeguard world peace.
Chinese military is willing to work with all parties to uphold security with concrete actions, enhance military mutual trust, step up multilateral coordination, and promote high-quality and efficient cooperation while improving related mechanisms, so as to make greater contributions to safeguarding world peace and building a community with a shared future for humanity, he said.
