Australia Welcomes Signing of Cambodia-Thailand Joint Declaration


Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, has applauded the recent signing of the Joint Declaration on Peace Deal between Cambodia and Thailand.

“The joint declaration marks a critical step towards the peaceful and constructive resolution of the border dispute, and we urge both parties to ensure its full and effective implementation,” she stressed.

The Australian Foreign Minister also thanked Prime Minister Anwar as ASEAN Chair and President Trump for their leadership in facilitating and supporting this important outcome.

The historic peace deal was signed by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The signing took place under the witness of H.E. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, and H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chair of the 2025 ASEAN Summits, on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Oct. 26.
