CMAC, TMAC Continue Detailed Discussion on Pilot Area for Humanitarian Demining


The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and the Thailand Mine Action Centre (TMAC) held a virtual meeting this morning to continue detailed discussions on the pilot area within the priority border zone designated for humanitarian demining operations.

The pilot area under discussion is located in O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, the Kingdom of Cambodia, opposite Nonmak Moon commune, Khok Song district, Sa Kaeo province, the Kingdom of Thailand.

According to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence, the meeting was conducted in accordance with the decision made during the Joint Coordinating Task Force (JCTF) meeting held on Oct. 31, 2025.

She added that all discussions and implementation work would strictly adhere to the principles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) agreed upon by the JCTF of both countries.

H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata further emphasised that the humanitarian demining operations will be conducted in full respect of the principles of protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity, based on the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
