China Helps with Carbon Emission Reduction in Preah Sihanouk Province

Chinese government has provided Cambodia with equipment to reduce carbon emissions in Preah Sihanouk province.

The equipment arrived at Sihanoukville International Port in Preah Sihanouk province on Nov. 22 and will be used to equip schools and public places, according to the Cambodian Ministry of Environment.

The donation was made through a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in low carbon emissions pilot project in Preah Sihanouk province signed last year between the Ministry of Environment of Cambodia and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China.

Under this cooperation, the Ministry of Environment encouraged all stakeholders to participate in activities to raise awareness on environment, strengthen capacity to prevent and reduce climate change in Cambodia for a sustainable, clean, environmental friendly, and green city.

The equipment includes 2,800 solar bulbs, 200 solar panels, and 200 electric motorcycles.
