Cambodian Products to World-class Retailer Walmart’s Shelves Unveiled


World-class retailer Walmart plans to import more Cambodian products such as furniture, fruits, food and electronics to U.S. market.

This was mentioned by Ms. Anbinh Phan, representative of Walmart in a meeting with H.E Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce held on May 10 in Washington D.C.

The meeting was aimed to discuss and seek understanding on business potential and investment opportunities in Cambodia, as well as the possibility of cooperation expansion.

Ms. Anbinh Phan highly valued Cambodia’s effective management of COVID-19 situation, and congratulated the Kingdom on the conclusion of new free trade agreements.

She also mentioned the intention to expand cooperation, strengthen partnership in business and investment activities that will contribute to creating job opportunities for Cambodians, especially women, promoting economic growth and alleviating poverty.

For his part, H.E. Pan Sorasak welcomed Walmart’s interest in expanding business in Cambodia. He briefed Ms. Anbinh Phan on the effective anti-COVID-19 efforts under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, which led to the rapid recovery of the Cambodian economy from this global health crisis.

H.E Pan Sorasak is currently in the U.S. to accompany Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the ASEAN Chair for 2022, to attend and co-chair with U.S. President, the Honorable Joseph R. Biden, the ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit to be held in Washington D.C. from May 12 to 13.
