Cambodia to Use Charter Flight to Transport Athletes for ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia


Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia will dispatch 115 athletes to join the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Solo city, Indonesia by charter flight.

While holding a get-together here at the Peace Palace this morning with the Cambodian delegation for these regional games, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the delegates to prepare for this games can go first by commercial flight, but for the athletes, they will go by charter flight.

The athletes will depart on July 26 and return home on Aug. 7, 2022, the Premier added.

At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen urged all athletes to adhere to all requirements and criteria of the competition and not to use any prohibited substances.

Some 134 International Technical Officials are expected to officiate at the Games across all 14 sports, with 110 from ASEAN and 24 from Asia and Oceania.

The Cambodian athletes will compete in 11 sports, including table tennis, weightlifting, athletics, swimming, volleyball, basketball, football, wheelchair basketball, boccia, badminton, and chess.

The Games are set to feature more than 1,600 athletes from all 11 Southeast Asian nations including Timor-Leste and are scheduled from July 30 to Aug. 6.
