The Kingdom of Cambodia and the United States of America have been committed to further boost their bilateral relations and cooperation for the mutual interest.
The commitment was made this morning while Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a visiting delegation of the U.S. Congress led by H.E. Ms. Elizabeth Van Duyne, Representative for Texas State from the Republican Party.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, in the courtesy meeting held at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, H.E. Ms. Elizabeth Van Duyne spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s efforts in bringing about peace, stability and development for the Cambodian people.
She told the Prime Minister of the visit of her delegation to Cambodia this time, the purpose of which is to tighten the relations between the two countries through existing potential and cooperation on trade and investment.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled the history of the Cambodia-U.S. relations, and agreed with H.E. Ms. Elizabeth Van Duyne that both nations need to look forward and seize the current opportunities, especially in the fields of trade, investment and education, as a basis to strengthen their relationship.
