India Provides US$426,000 to Support Demining Activities in Cambodia


The Government of India has announced an assistance of US$426,000 to support mine clearance activities in Cambodia.

According to a news release of the Indian Embassy in Cambodia dated Nov. 15, the assistance will be used for demining of three districts and one commune in Cambodia.

The assistance was made as part of the commemoration of the 70th year of the Establishment of India-Cambodia Diplomatic Relations.

During a bilateral meeting with H.E. Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice-President of the Republic of India, in Phnom Penh on Nov. 12 on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia pushed the cooperation on mine clearance to help Cambodia reach its goal of “A Mine-Free Cambodia by 2025”.
