Azerbaijan Intends to Tighten Relations with Cambodia


Visiting H.E. Ms. Sahiba Ali Gizi Gafarova, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan has expressed her intention to boost the relations between Azerbaijan and Cambodia, especially between their executive bodies.

While paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning, H.E. Ms. Sahiba Ali Gizi Gafarova is also willing to push for the implementation of the bilateral memorandums of understanding already signed and sought more potential to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between both nations, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.

Moreover, she wanted to promote the connectivity between the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.

H.E. Ms. Sahiba Ali Gizi Gafarova thanked the Cambodian parliament for its support for Azerbaijani parliament to become an observer of AIPA.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed H.E. Ms. Sahiba Ali Gizi Gafarova’s high appreciation for Cambodia’s successful hosting of the 43rd AIPA General Assembly and voiced his support for all her suggestions.
