Digital Literacy Push at Primary and Secondary Schools Discussed

Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and ChildFund Cambodia have discussed the mainstreaming of digital literacy at primary and secondary schools in the capital and a province.

The discussion took place here in Phnom Penh yesterday between H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and Dr. Prashant Verma, Country Director of ChildFund Cambodia.

The project will enable children in targeted schools to attain the 21-century skills, including computer science, financial literacy, critical thinking and beyond.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron shared some insights as the basis for the project implementation and encouraged ChildFund Cambodia to work closely with the ministry’s technical working group to rollout the project smoothly and successfully.

The project will essentially contribute to strengthening the government’s education system from national to school level, not only the digitalisation, but also children’s safety on internet.

Supported by Woori Bank Cambodia, the three-year project (Mar. 2023 to Feb. 2026) will be implemented at primary and secondary schools in Phnom Penh capital and Kandal province.
