Cambodia, U.S. Discuss Important Areas of Collaboration

Cambodia and the United States of America have discussed important areas of collaboration, poised to strengthen their relations, said a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC).

The discussion took place at the MFAIC on Aug. 31 between H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. W. Patrick Murphy, U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia.

According to the press release, the U.S. ambassador congratulated H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea on assuming the role of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Trade and investment, people-to-people ties, health and security within the bilateral framework, and international cooperation within the ASEAN and the United Nations frameworks were among the topics discussed.

While recognising differing approaches to some matters, which reflect the nature of international relations, both sides underscored the importance of continuous dialogues and concerted efforts to identify potential areas of cooperation and advance towards mutual goals benefiting the two peoples.
