Ministry Appreciates ADB’s Investment and Development Projects


The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has appreciated all investment and development projects of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Cambodia, significantly contributing to improving the people’s living condition and achieving Cambodia’s goal of becoming an upper middle-income economy by 2030.

The appreciation was made by H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Environment in a meeting with H.E. Ms. Jyotsana Varma, ADB Representative in Cambodia here in Phnom Penh on Sept. 26.

H.E. Dith Tina laid stress on the necessity of the national laboratory in checking agricultural products to ensure food safety and controlling infection diseases. It is crucial and a starting step in building infrastructure and laboratory building needed to mobilise investments from partners including ADB, he added.

For the One Health project, the minister urged for attention to laws, policies and guidelines, as well as ownership and the study on the target groups’ needs in order to use the budget in the right direction, effectively and beneficially so as to contribute to sustainable economy.

H.E. Minister also asked for participation and good cooperation from concerned institutions to achieve that project.
