Cambodia and Russia have agreed to organise the 11th Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in early 2024.
The agreement was made here on Oct. 10 between H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister started by expressing appreciation to Russia for the continuing aid and assistance to Cambodia, especially, in human resource development. H.E. Ambassador reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to further promote education in Cambodia, and took the opportunity to extend condolences to the families of a Cambodian student who fell victim to the latest tragedy in Israel.
In response, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Russian Ambassador for his compassion and emphasised that the Royal Government of Cambodia is doing everything in its power to ensure the safety of all Cambodian students in Israel.
Both sides noted with deep satisfaction of the traditional bonds of friendship between Cambodia and Russia, guided by the principles of mutual respect and shared interests. They underlined the importance of continued cooperation in mutually beneficial spheres, including trade and investment, and culture among others.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common concern.
