Cambodian NA President to Visit Vietnam Later This Month


Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, will pay an official and friendly visit to Vietnam at the end of November.

This is her first ever visit abroad after she took office as the NA President, said a news release of the NA General Secretariat issued after the courtesy meeting between Samdech Khuon Sudary and H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, at the NA Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.

According to the source, in the meeting, Samdech Khuon Sudary spoke highly of the relationship between the two neighbouring nations despite the rapid evolution in the national, regional and global situation, hoping that her planned visit to Vietnam will contribute to further tightening the friendship and cooperation between both countries, particularly between both legislative bodies.

Besides, she urged the Vietnamese side to further facilitate cross-border trade, investment and tourism activities between the two countries to enhance mutual benefits.

For his part, H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang congratulated Samdech Khuon Sudary on her election as the President of the NA’s 7th legislature. He stated that the Royal Government and the 7th legislature of NA have started with an energetic and clear step, which will bring many more great achievements to the Cambodian nation and people, especially boost the economic development and improve the people’s livelihood.

H.E. Ambassador also requested the NA President to continue supporting and promoting the implementation of the agreements that the two countries have signed in the past, and strengthening the exchange of visits between the two countries’ NA delegations at all levels.
