Gov’t Develops an IT Platform for Better Service Provision

The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) has developed an IT platform to allow local people to access services via online, which is in line with the RGC’s commitment to increasing the capacity of officials to become e-civil servants and e-citizens.

The commitment was underscored by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the inauguration ceremony of the new head office building of the Ministry of Interior in Phnom Penh this morning.

“People do not need to come to the district hall or the district’s One Window Service office because they can apply (for a document) online and after that, they can come to get (the required document) at the same district […],” he said.

Besides, the Premier has urged for an effective service provision at localities to respond to the RGC’s efforts to put in place policies to strengthen, rather than expand, the provision of services for the citizens.

“This strengthening means expansion of practical result of service provision by continuing to sharpen it to be more effective,” he underlined.

Samdech Thipadei also requested the Ministry of Interior to promote the transfer and delegation of power to the sub-national level, focusing on tightening and promoting the provision of education, health, agriculture, especially local administrative services.
