PM Congratulates Cambodia’s Educational Reform


Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has expressed his congratulations and appreciation for the educational reform in the country.

Addressing the get-together with the 1,691 students who got their baccalaureate with grade A in the 2022-2023 academic year, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said educational reform takes time and needs many investments, but Cambodia has done well, especially in last ten years.

“This ten-year reform confirms that this system of work is sustainable for the entire population. Supporting and embracing this reform and adopting a new culture of exams is our success,” he underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said this reform started in 2014, and at that time, there were only 11 grade A students, but this year the number increased to 1,691 which means that the system is working for the whole society.

According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, some 72.98 percent, or 98,460 out of 137,412 high school students who have registered for the upper secondary school exams, obtained their baccalaureate.

Among the successful students, the source pointed out, 1,673 got grade A; 6,964 grade B; 18,308 grade C; 34,246 grade D; and 37,269 grade E.

Besides, there were 18 grade A students from technical and vocational training schools.

In 2022, the success rate among high school students was 72.33 percent. Of the graduates, 1,049 got grade A; 7,232 grade B; 19,053 grade C; 31,166 grade D; and 32,450 grade E.
