The President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, received here at the January 7 Palace this morning visiting H.E. Dr. Chang Dae-whan, Chairman of Maekyung Media Group.
In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to H.E. Dr. Chang Dae-whan’s visit, and hoped that it will explore more investment opportunities in Cambodia.
The former Prime Minister of Cambodia also briefed his guest on the history of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea established in 1996, stressing that he is the founder.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen emphasised that thanks to this diplomatic relationship, many South Korean companies have come to invest in Cambodia, and tens of thousands of Cambodians have been accepted to work in the Republic of Korea.
Regarding the bilateral cooperation, Samdech Techo asked both sides to pay attention to some key areas, including the strengthening of bilateral relations, promotion of Mekong-RoK cooperation and ASEAN-RoK cooperation to be more effective, and enhancement of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the bilateral cooperation within the UN framework.
H.E. Dr. Chang Dae-whan took the opportunity to invite Samdech Techo Hun Sen to attend the World Knowledge Forum to be organised by Maekyung Media Group in the Republic of Korea in September this year.
The World Knowledge Forum was launched in 2000 to pursue balanced global development and prosperity based on knowledge sharing.
