His Majesty the King Departs for a Visit in Japan


His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, departed this morning for a visit in Japan.

The Cambodian monarch was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, newly elected President of the Senate; Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister; and many other high-ranking officials as well as royal family members.

Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. UENO Atsushi was also present on the occasion.

According to a royal message, during His Majesty the King’s absence, Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen will act as the Acting Head of State.
