Collaboration to Promote Green Environment and Agriculture Collaboration


The World Bank (WB) is committed to continuing cooperation on the promotion of green and agricultural development in Cambodia.

The commitment was made by Ms. Anna Wellenstein, Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific of the WB’s Sustainable Development Practice Group, in separate meetings with H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, and H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, in Phnom Penh on July 3.

In a meeting with H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Ms. Anna Wellenstein pledged to support the Ministry of Environment with the rollout of the Chakra Strategy on Environment, especially through the Cambodia Sustainable Landscape and Ecotourism Project (CSLEP).

The minister spoke highly of the WB’s contribution to Cambodia’s environmental improvement through solid waste and plastic management in Cambodia.

n a meeting with H.E. Dith Tina, Ms. Anna Wellenstein expressed her appreciation for the good cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and WB on agricultural development.

H.E. Dith Tina highlighted that the ministry has been promoting food security and a sustainable local economy through the modern agricultural community initiative.

He added that it aims to diversify agricultural production in grassroots communities while promoting sustainable use of natural resources.
