Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to prioritize on the education and health.
Addressing the graduation ceremony of 561 graduates from the University of Puthisastra at Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre here this morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said investing in human resources is a long-term vision aimed at building economic and social capital and ensuring that Cambodia does not fall into the trap of middle-income countries in our long-term process of targeting for high income nation in 2050.
Among the prioritized sectors, the health sector is one of the most vital sector of the Royal Government in ensuring the well-being of the people and the resilience of society.
The Royal Government’s investment in education and health are showing significant achievements, and a number of indicators reflecting the progress of the population, including an increase in health care coverage from 24 percent in 2000 to 58% by 2024, he said.
The increase of the life expectancy average of the population from 59 years in 2000 to 76 years by 2024, is also the achievement, he underlined. At the same time, the composition of the social health support system has been implemented and expanded, he added.
