Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak on Sunday concluded his successful visit to Henan province, China, where he met with 22 Chinese companies to promote Cambodia’s tourism sector and attract potential investors.
During the meeting, he highlighted Cambodia’s tourism potential and destinations, especially investment opportunities with the incentive policy of the Royal Government.
He emphasised Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and warm hospitality, which makes the country an ideal destination for Chinese travellers.
The Chinese firms expressed interest in investing in Cambodia’s tourism industry, saying that they will organise tours to learn more about Cambodia’s tourist destinations and create new tour packages to attract Chinese tourists to visit Cambodia.
H.E. Huot Hak led a delegation of senior tourism officials and Bokator team to participate in the opening ceremony of the “Joint Martial Arts Performance of Bokator-Shaolin Henan-Cambodia” at the 13th China Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival, held in Dengfeng city, Henan province on Oct. 19.
“This historic event marked the first time that Cambodian Bokator was performed in front of the renowned Shaolin Temple. It was an extraordinary and proud occasion, as it was unprecedented for martial arts from different countries to be performed at the Shaolin Temple,” said the Ministry of Tourism.
H.E. Huot Hak considered his Henan province trip as an opportunity to promote Cambodian Bokator, a Khmer traditional martial art, culture, tradition, and rich tourism potential; strengthen and expand cooperation with the Henan Provincial Administration; and promote the “Visit Siem Reap 2024” and “Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2024”.
