Cambodia Promotes Potential Products to European Market


A delegation of Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, led by H.E. Secretary of State Samheng Bora, Chairman of the Export Promotion Task Force, on Oct. 20 joined a Market Visit to France and the Netherlands, organised by the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED) Programme.

In addition, H.E. Secretary of State also visited the SIAL Paris Exhibition being held in Paris from Oct. 19 to 23 and participated in a discussion on the experiences shared by Cambodian entrepreneurs who participated in the SIAL Paris event, including the Cambodia Rice Federation, Cashew Federation, Ample Agro Product, Khmer Organic Company, HESED Cambodia, and Misota Company.

During the visit, H.E. Samheng Bora also met with several companies to showcase Cambodia’s potential products, particularly rice, processed foods, and cashew nuts.

SIAL Paris Exhibition features more than 7,500 booths from various regions, including Asia, Europe, America, and Africa, with an estimated 285,000 participants.

Last week, a Memorandum of Understanding on the export of three Cambodian potential products to European market was reached under the witness of H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce.

Tropicam Fruit and Vegetable Co., Ltd. represented by its President, Neak Oknha Hun Lak, and Overenden / Smarteden represented by its CEO, Mr. Laurent Stauch, signed the MoU.

Under the MoU, Cambodia will ship three potential products, including rice, cashew nuts, and dried mangoes to European market at the end of this month, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
