Cambodian parliamentary delegation actively participated, sharing views on the draft summarising the outcomes of the 45th General Assembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45), at the Joint Communique Committee meeting of the General Assembly, held in Vientiane, Lao PDR this morning.
The Cambodian delegates included H.E. Khuth Chandara, H.E. Seng Nhak, and H.E. Keo Piseth, along with H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly.
The ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly is a forum for parliamentary diplomacy among ASEAN member states, representing nearly 700 million people. The annual General Assembly serves as a platform to bring together the views and perspectives of citizens, supporting ASEAN’s efforts to achieve the ASEAN Community Vision and sustainable development, and promoting inclusion for people in the region and beyond.
The theme of the 45th General Assembly is “The Role of Parliaments in Enhancing Connectivity and Inclusive Growth of ASEAN.”
According to the Cambodian National Assembly, decisions made during the Joint Communique Committee meeting are recorded as the official results of the General Assembly, to be signed by the heads of delegations at the closing ceremony.
The draft report was discussed in a spirit of friendship and 37 draft resolutions approved.
