H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and H.E. Sugiono, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, spoke highly of the long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Indonesia, during a phone conversation on Oct. 23.
According to the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the two Foreign Ministers recalled the long-lasting friendly relations between the two countries, established by the Late King Father, His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK, Preah BOROM RATANAK KAUDH, and the Late President Sukarno in 1959 and their special affinity.
The two Foreign Ministers expressed their satisfaction over the growing ties of friendship and cooperation and reaffirmed their strong commitment to work closely together to further promote warm relations and deepen cooperation in multiple areas, including politics, defence and security, trade and investment, education and culture.
The Deputy Prime Minister renewed his warmest congratulations to H.E. Sugiono on his appointment as Foreign Minister of Indonesia and looked forward to meeting him in person.
