Cambodian PM Receives Different IPTP Delegations

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace this afternoon two groups of distinguished delegates participating in the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP 11) being hosted by Cambodia.

In the separate courtesy calls, the delegation of leaders of the inter-parliamentary groups and international organisations of IPTP 11 led by H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), and the delegation of speakers of parliaments of friendly countries, headed by H.E. Dev Rej Ghimire, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, highly appreciated Cambodia’s good organisation of IPTP 11 and thanked the Kingdom for the warm and cordial hospitality toward all the IPTP delegates.

The IPTP 11 provided an opportunity for the participants to learn from Cambodia’s success in the peace-seeking process, which has transformed the Kingdom from a war-torn country to a country with complete peace and development in all sectors.

H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan noted that Cambodia is a safe country with very friendly people, while H.E. Dev Rej Ghimire emphasised that Cambodia’s journey towards liberating the country from the genocidal regime and its peace-seeking process are a successful model and experience that should be disseminated and shared with countries around the world.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked all the IPTP delegates for their participation in the IPTP 11, which, he said, is a good platform for building networks between countries in the region and the world, as well as strengthening relations between parliaments and parliaments, governments and governments, and between parties and parties, aiming to unite and help each other in times of need.

Besides, the Premier highlighted the peace-seeking and national unification process in Cambodia, stressing that maintaining peace is essential, and peace will help to achieve global integration and connectivity, including fostering economic, trade and people-to-people connectivity.

In the same afternoon, the two delegations also paid courtesy visits to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia.
