Samdech Thipadei Encourages Cambodian and Vietnamese Defence Ministries to Deepen Cooperation


Cambodian Prime Minister has encouraged the Ministries of National Defence of Cambodia and Vietnam to continue to strengthen and expand their relations and cooperation by initiating more new activities.

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet made the encouragement while receiving a courtesy call from visiting H.E. Gen. Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence of Vietnam, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon.

The Cambodian Premier also expressed his satisfaction with the progress and excellent relations between the two countries’ defence ministries and thanked the Vietnamese side for providing training courses for Cambodian officers and trainees in the past and for facilitating the repatriation of remains of Cambodian soldiers for burial at the Techo Koh Thmar X16 military historical site.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia’s continued cooperation with the Vietnamese side in the search for remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers fallen in Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Gen. Phan Van Giang thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its good cooperation in the search for remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and their repatriation to their homeland.

Besides, he informed Samdech Thipadei about the fruitful results of his meeting with his Cambodian counterpart and expressed his determination to continue to foster the defence cooperation between both neighbouring nations.
