Cambodia, World Bank to Continue Partnership in Agricultural Sector


The Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the World Bank will continue their good cooperation and the joint implementation of development projects.

This is the spirit of the meeting here on Thursday between Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Dith Tina and Ms. Tania Meyer, World Bank Country Manager for Cambodia.

On the occasion, H.E. Minister highlighted the Royal Government’s agricultural policy in maintaining stable agricultural prices for farmers and consumers, deploying agricultural officers to villages-communes to provide technical assistance for farmers and report on various challenges, and forming modern agricultural communities that can help farmers reduce production costs, have clear plans, receive low-interest capital loans, be able to supply according to market needs, have regular technical support from the ministry, and protect against climate change risks.

H.E. Dith Tina also introduced to his guest priority policies in the agricultural sector to ensure food security and economic and environmental sustainability in the country.

Besides, H.E. Minister laid stress on Cambodia potential agricultural products that need to be processed for export to foreign markets as well as the significance of digitalisation in the field of agriculture.
