His Majesty the King Leaves for a Visit to China’s Hainan Province


His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, departed here this morning for the People’s Republic of China for a three-day visit to Hainan province, at the invitation of the Chinese side.

The monarch was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, National Assembly (NA) President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and many other high-ranking officials as well as royal family members.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the visit from Dec. 19 to 21, His Majesty the King will grant separate royal audiences to Hainan provincial leadership, and also to the teaching faculty and Cambodian students at Nanhai Buddhism Academy.

“The visit of His Majesty the King to Hainan province will further strengthen the bonds of close friendship between the peoples of Cambodia and China, and promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between the two countries,” underlined the same source.

His Majesty the King is accompanied by Samdech Mahamontrei KUY Sophal, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Royal Palace, and other senior officials of the Royal Palace.
