The Kingdom of Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China are committed to enhancing their bilateral cooperation in promoting the role of women and girls.
The strong commitment was reaffirmed in a meeting between H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Cambodian Minister of Women’s Affairs, and H.E. Wang Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, at the ministry’s office in Phnom Penh on Dec. 25.
H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi is grateful for past collaborations with the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) and the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund on increasing women’s economic empowerment in the digital age and promoting gender mainstreaming in climate action.
Both sides also discussed the strengthening of the two countries’ ties through the Chun Lei Project, which advances girls’ education in digital technology and STEM. Successfully implemented in China for 45 years, this UN award-winning initiative now begins its first international phase in Cambodia.
