Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, received here at the Peace Palace this morning a courtesy call from H.E. KATO Katsunobu, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Financial Services of Japan
According to the Spokesperson for Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister, during the meeting, H.E. KATO Katsunobu commended the progress in the strong bilateral relations and cooperation between Japan and Cambodia.
The Japanese finance minister highlighted Cambodia’s importance as a key partner to Japan and expressed optimism about the continued growth of the Cambodian economy. He reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthening and expanding the relationship between the two nations.
For his part, Samdech Borvor Thipadei extended warm welcome to H.E. KATO Katsunobu’s visit to Cambodia, emphasising that it will further bolster and expand the cooperation between the two countries.
The Premier also expressed his satisfaction and appreciation for the advancement of Cambodia-Japan relations, which were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership in early 2023.
Samdech Thipadei extended his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their support and contributions to Cambodia, spanning from the peace-seeking process and national reconstruction to development across various sectors.
Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister and H.E. KATO Katsunobu also discussed potential areas to further strengthen cooperation, including the economy, trade, health, infrastructure, finance, digital technology, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), vocational training, people-to-people exchanges, and fostering stronger ties between the private sectors of both nations.
