H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), received a courtesy call by a delegation of the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) headed by its CEO H.E. Ith Vichit, at the NBC headquarters in Phnom Penh on Feb. 12.
In the meeting, H.E. Ith Vichit highlighted the progress and strategic plans of the CTB for promoting Cambodia’s tourism potentials.
He emphasised the sector’s interconnected nature, highlighting the need for strong collaboration among relevant stakeholders.
For her part, H.E. Dr. Chea Serey expressed strong support for the promotion of Cambodia’s tourism sector globally.
She laid stress on the importance of compiling accurate data, particularly on international tourists’ spending behaviours, to enhance targeted marketing and policy formulation.
H.E. Dr. Chea Serey also highlighted the Bakong Tourists App as a new tourism product and a convenient payment solution for travellers.
Additionally, she underscored the banking sector’s role in supporting tourism development through improved credit access and loan restructuring.
She also highlighted the NBC’s contributions, particularly the establishment of Preah Srey Içanavarman Museum (SOSORO) in Phnom Penh, with upcoming expansion in Battambang and Kampot to further enrich Cambodia’s cultural and economic tourism offerings.
