Cambodia, Sri Lanka Still Have Room for Cooperation


Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace this morning H.E. Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Cambodia with residence in Bangkok.

On the occasion, H.E. Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe expressed her delight to fulfill her mission in Cambodia and conveyed greetings from Sri Lanka’s top leaders to Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.

The Sri Lankan diplomat lauded the long-standing relations between the two countries, and highlighted her commitment to further strengthen the relationship during her diplomatic mandate, especially to promote the bilateral cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, education and tourism.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet extended warm welcome to H.E. Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia. He believed that during her diplomatic term, the relations and cooperation between both nations will be further boosted.

Cambodia and Sri Lanka have long-lasting relations and share similar religious beliefs, and the two countries still have room for cooperation in many sectors, including education and religious tourism, said the Cambodian Premier, encouraging H.E. Ambassador to continue working closely with the ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia and promote further connections between the private sectors of both countries.
